Here is every single book read or referenced in Gilmore Girls – take the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge now – how long will it take you?

“I live in two worlds, one is a world of books,” she said. “I’ve been a resident of Faulkner’s Yoknapatawpha County, hunted the white whale aboard the Pequod, fought alongside Napoleon, sailed a raft with Huck and Jim, committed absurdities with Ignatius J. Reilly, rode a sad train with Anna Karenina and strolled down Swann’s Way. It’s a rewarding world.”

When I say that I love Gilmore Girls, I mean it. Gilmore Girls first aired when I was in highschool. That along with my mom being a single mother, I felt extra-connected to Rory and the storyline. And, of course, I love to read. While I may not be as brilliant as Rory, I can still read like her and I’ll take that as a pretty good thing.

I’ve watched the series probably a good ten times and it’s my go-to show to put on when I’m writing, editing photos, and doing any other work.

Rory Gilmore Reading List

Here’s a complete list of all the books either read or referenced in the seven seasons of Gilmore Girls.

If you’re interested in the list of books from Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, you can see that list here.

These are listed in alphabetical order. Sometime, when I have the time, I’d like to go back and write them in chronological order of reference. Curious what everyone would rather see – alphabetical or chronological?

Rory Gilmore Challenge Spreadsheet

Looking for a way to track your challenge? We’ve put together a spreadsheet that you can download!

It will tally them up as you mark them as read and it also shows the percentage of the challenge you’ve completed. Loved it? Or hated it? Give it a rating for recommendation reminders for friends.

Get the spreadsheet here. This will download the excel format copy to your computer.

Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge

Have you taken the Rory Gilmore reading challenge? How long do you really think it would take? Even if you read two a week, you’re still looking at over three years. That being said – some are really short, while others aren’t, of course.

For myself, I’m going to put a √ next to the ones I’ve read and if I’ve written a review for it, then I’ll link to it.
