An October Read-A-Thon – Read Like Hell-A-Thon!

What is the Read Like Hell-A-Thon?
It’s a read-a-thon in October with a Halloween-horror-esque theme.
Instructions
Levels and prompts can be read in any order you wish. Think of them more as groups instead of stepping stones to the next level.
Each character has more prompt choices than needed to give you options. Read all the prompts for extra points (the points don’t matter, except for bragging power).
“Masked Musicians” Level
To achieve the “Masked Musicians” level, read one book from each of the three characters’ prompt choices (three books total).
Papa (from Ghost)
- A book with a skull on the cover
- A sequel
- A book with a purple cover
- A book with siblings
Vessel (from Sleep Token)
- A book with pink flowers on the cover
- A romance book with “Provider” energy
- A book with gods, deities, or total devotion to someone
- A book with teeth on the cover (TAKE A BITE ARF ARF)
President (from President)
- A book with an MC in a political position
- A book where religion (positive or negative) plays a large role
- A book with themes of existentialism or death anxiety
- A book with a masked character
“Urban Legends” Level
To achieve the “Urban Legends” level, read one books from each of the three characters’ prompt choices (three books total).
Bloody Mary
- A book with a mirror on it
- A book from a trilogy
- A book with blood on the cover
- A book with supernatural themes
Bell Witch
- A book set in the 19th century
- A historical fiction book
- A book set in Tennessee
- A book with a ghost or witch
Candyman
- A book written by a black author
- The 5th book off your TBR list
- A book with bees or honey on the cover
- A book with an interracial relationship
“Menacing Men” Level
To achieve this level, read one book from each of the four characters’ prompt choices (four books total).
Bear (from Obsession)
- A book with a character that does not control their own destiny or will
- A “good for her” book
- A book with themes of rejection
- A book with an actual bear
Captain Clark (from Backrooms)
- A book involving liminal space
- A book with a yellow cover
- A book with themes of stagnation or being stuck in the past
- A book with generational trauma
Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal (from 28 Years Later)
- A book inspired by true events
- A book about an apocalyptic event
- A book with a cult
- A book with collective trauma or suffering
Mal (from Hokum)
- A book involving Irish lore or set in Ireland
- A book about an author
- A book set in a hotel
- A book with themes of grief
