My 2020 Reading Goal
My Goodreads challenge reading goal is 100 books this year. This is my largest challenge ever, but I’m really feeling it this year.
I am technically behind schedule, but I’m not worried. I’ve been reading really long books so they’re taking me a while.
And behind or not, I’ve already read 39 books this year which is pretty damn good if you ask me.
What I Read in June 2020
Plantains and the 7 Plagues: A Memoir: Half-Cuban, Half-Dominican and Full Life by Paz Ellis – This short memoir was a lovely and interesting look into Cuban and Dominican culture.
The Existence of Amy by Lana Grace Riva – A fictional memoir with an intimate deep dive into mental health.
Red Hail by Jamie Killen – A science fiction book with excellent world-building skills.
The Other Hotel by Jack Stroke – This is one that has good reviews but I just really didn’t relate at all.
Immersed in West Africa: My Solo Journey Across Senegal, Mauritania, The Gambia, Guinea and Guinea Bissau by Terry Lister – A travel memoir through a lesser-visited area of Africa.
The Dark Land by D.M. Shepard – A short but horror and action-packed novella set in Alaska.
Right now, I’m reading Black Veil, The Deep, and How to Be an Anti-Racist.
